What is the HRC AZ Dinner

HRC Arizona’s premiere event, the Annual Dinner is a black tie soirée that includes celebrity entertainment, dynamic community leaders and like-minded business and political figures who support the LGBT community.

How much are tickets?

General admission tickets are $225 and we will also be offering VIP tickets. Federal Club and Federal Club council members can purchase their tickets at a discounted price. If you are interested in becoming a federal club member please email our team.

Are there any discount tickets?

Yes, if you are a student, current member of the military or are a Young Professional (30 or younger) or if you buy your tickets on the Early Bird Scheme prior to January 15, 2018.

Where does my investment go?

Purchasing a ticket will help with the work that helps push equality forward. Past victories include getting HRC boots on the ground to work with Why Marriage Matters and working as a founding member of Competitive Arizona, a coalition of business and individuals working to promote economic development in Arizona through equality and inclusion for all people. This includes gay and transgender individuals, in employment, housing, and public accommodations.

We also can not leave out the important work done that led to the Supreme Court victory which made marriage equality the law of the land.

What does a VIP ticket entail?

More exclusive details will be announced as the Gala nears.

Is my ticket tax deductible?

All proceeds from the Gala ensures HRC has the resources for its legislative and advocacy work, so is not tax deductible.

What happens at the dinner?

The dinner is a celebration beginning with a VIP Reception for our Award winners (but you have to have been invited or buy the VIP tickets), our Corporate Partners and others who wish to mix and mingle with them in a relaxed environment over drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres.

Guests will then have a chance to bid on items which make up our renowned Silent Auction.  Since it’s still early, the auction typically includes weekend getaways, unique dining experiences, custom clothing, artwork, autographed collector’s items, and much more.

The doors then swing open for the piece-de-resistance, the gala itself.  A sumptuous meal and a heady evening meeting up with friends and long lost acquaintances.  We will have remarks from an HRC national person of interest followed by the awards ceremony. We also have amazing guest speakers lined up and last year it was the incredible Sara Ramirez who portrays Dr. Callie Torres from Grey’s Anatomy.

There are closing remarks and when all is said and done there is the AFTER PARTY!!!   Phoenix will rock!!!

What time should I arrive?

If you are attending the VIP Reception, check-in begins at 4:45.  Otherwise, check-in begins at 6:00pm.

What is a table captain?  And what are the benefits of being one?

Table Captains are the heart and soul of each HRC Arizona Annual Gala.  They serve a critical role in the success of the event.  Each Table Captain strives to fill a table of 10, creating their own guest list and spending an inspirational evening surrounded with friends and family.  As a “thank-you” for helping to support the drive for equality, Table Captains are listed in most advertisements , invitations and Program Books.  We honor our Table Captains for the efforts they perform, so if you would like to be a part of this year’s table captains you can sign up here.

Who can attend the dinner?

Anyone and everyone who is interested in celebrating the successes of the community over the last year.

How can I donate to the silent auction?

Please contact the chair of our Silent Auction committee or fill out this Silent Auction form

What silent auction items do you look for?

We are interested in all kinds of things such as: jewelry, artwork, vacation stays, spa treatments, hotel stays, restaurant nights (generally for 2-4 people), theatre or entertainment event tickets, and/or discount cards etc. We are also looking for donations of sealed bottles of high quality wine for our Wine Pull Event.

How can I become a sponsor and what are the benefits?

Contact our Corporate Partnership co-chairs.  They will be happy to discuss with you the many benefits that are part of being Corporate Partners with HRC.  Our information package is available here.

How can I volunteer?

WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!!!  We need volunteers now to help on all of our Gala preparatory committees, and we need volunteers just prior to the Gala and then on the day of the Gala, in the morning, afternoon and then on the night of the Gala.  You can sign up here.

Will parking be available?

Besides public parking garages there are numerous parking meters surrounding the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel that can be utilized. If you plan on enjoying yourself all night long by making reservations at the Renaissance, parking is available in their garage. One of the many perks of purchasing a VIP ticket will be valet parking at the hotel.

The Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel is also located near the Central & Van Buren station if you are riding the light rail.
